When adults cry



You'll probably see me cry at your dad's service. And that's okay. Your Uncle Dan may or may not be crying. And that's okay too. 


It's likely that children will see people crying.

  • Reassure them that crying is a healthy way that people of all ages show their feelings when they’re sad.
  • Let them know that not everybody cries and some people may show no emotion. This doesn't mean they don't care or that they aren't sad.
  • Sometimes people feel numb for a while, and feelings may come weeks or months after a death.
