I really dreaded telling my children but I felt so relieved afterwards.
As you share this news, you can expect more than a single conversation.
You can expect a series of discussions as:
- Your child takes in and processes this new information.
- Your child thinks about the situation in new ways.
- The situation changes.
Although there may be many more conversations, the first one can be particularly difficult. It may help to know that once it’s over, people often report feeling that a big weight has been lifted from their shoulders.
